Felician Sisters of Buffalo Felician Sisters of Buffalo
A charism is a gift of the Holy Spirit given to directly or indirectly benefit the Church. Charism is at the heart of a congregation's identity; it provides a frame of reference for mission, vision, formation and spirituality.
The founding charism of the Felician Sisters was a call to service, service motivated by love of God, "service to gain souls for Christ... through a total self-giving in corporal and spiritual works of mercy" (Constitutions of 1886). Welcome to the Felician Sisters of Buffalo, NY.

Message from Sister M. Lorianne on the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary

How good it is to celebrate and thank God for the lives of the Felician Sisters who have committed themselves to the service of others. As I look at each Sister I see a variety of gifts and talents. I see prayerful women who are strong, dedicated and who faithfully follow in the footprints of our beloved Foundress, Blessed Mary Angela.
As we celebrate Jubilee with a joyful, resounding “Deo Gratias,” we are reminded of the consecrated lives of these Felician Sisters who have served eighty, seventy-five, seventy, sixty and fifty years of religious life. We are reminded of their labor of love in Canada, Brazil or the Buffalo, Erie, Ogdensburg and Syracuse Dioceses.
Educators, caregivers and advocates for the poor, the Sisters reflect the Spirit and Life which permeates our Felician Community. Whether serving as educators, pastoral ministers, administrators or office managers; serving within Villa Maria as receptionists or chauffeurs; or ministering through prayer for the needs of those requesting
intercession, the Sisters are a visible sign of the Compassionate Presence of Christ.
I am grateful to each of our Sisters, for their selfless service, dedication and witness. My prayer is that God may continue to strengthen and guide each Sister as she continues her journey.
In like manner I am grateful to each of you for journeying and partnering with us during this exciting time in our history. You have been faithful friends and for this we sing, “Deo Gratias.”
The Felician Sisters are committed to remaining a visible sign and an anchor of hope within our neighborhood.
As we continue to serve the needs of the poor and those whom society often leaves behind, we ask for your prayerful support and, in return, we promise our prayerful intercession for you and the needs of your loved ones.

Thank you for being an integral part of our lives. Without you, our family, friends and benefactors, our footprints might not be as visible. We invite you to continue to journey with us as we leave lasting footprints in all of our ministries.

Thank you for being a part of our journey, our hopes and our dreams.

In the Heart of Mary,

Sister Mary Lorianne Tylczynski,
Provincial Minister

May the Blessings of our Holy Father St. Francis be with you today and always!
