Who Are Felician Associates?
Felician Associates are women and men who desire to share the spirit and mission of the Felician Sisters. They aspire to live a life rooted in the Scriptures, reflecting compassion and mercy in daily living, and committing themselves to service in the church. The program is designed for women and men 18 years of age and older who possess the spiritual and emotional qualities necessary to be effective in fulfilling their mission. They maintain their choice of work and life situations, and must be financially independent. Associates are given numerous opportunities to benefit from the support of the Felician Sisters without committing themselves to a vowed or common life.

Manner of Association
Association with the Felician Sisters includes:

  • Mutual prayer with and for the Community;
  • Mutual sharing of faith experiences and life journeys;
  • Opportunity for personal growth through Community lectures, workshops, days of recollection and retreats;
  • Opportunities for using one's gifts and talents in shared ministries, activities, and voluntary service within the Felician Community; and
  • Participation in Community celebrations.

Procedure for Association

  1. Formal contact is made with the Director of the Associate Program.
  2. The interested person then engages in a period of inquiry under the guidance of a Felician Sister who serves as a sponsor and the Director of the Associates.
  3. The inquiry period is followed by acceptance as a candidate and involvement in a formal formation process.
  4. The period of candidacy is concluded with a formal application for acceptance as a Felician Associate. This includes a statement of intent, letters of recommendation, an interview with the Provincial Minister, and a retreat.
  5. The candidate is accepted as a Felician Associate and makes a commitment by signing a covenant indicating the areas of spiritual development and the ministry in which the associate will be engaged during the following year.
  6. The covenant is updated and renewed annually.
