history.
What ministries are the sisters engaged in?
The mission of the Felician Sisters is to bring about the spiritual renewal
of society and the culture in which they live. The individual gifts of
a sister as well as the needs of the Church and society are considered
when sisters are missioned to specific ministries. Learn
more about specific ministries of the sisters in the Buffalo Province.
Why would someone consider joining the Felician Sisters?
Each person has a mission in life and is called to make a difference by
their lives. Sometimes a feeling deep within the heart lets an individual
know that God wants them not only to do something special, but also to
give their whole heart to God. When a woman becomes a sister, she becomes
a sister to all God's people. She loves them as God loves them. She cares
for them as God cares for them.
Is there an age limit for being a Felician Sister?
Women of college age and beyond are welcomed to explore the candidacy
program. During candidacy a young woman discerns her call to religious
life and prepares to enter the congregation. Women up to the age of forty
are encouraged to consider the Felician way of life. However, since each
life story is unique, exceptions are made for women over forty.
How does a person know if she should become
a candidate?
After sharing her story with the Director of Vocations and spending time
together, a young woman would have a sense of whether or not she would
like to continue the process toward becoming a Felician Sister. If the
process and the journey is meant to continue, there would be a tug within
the heart encouraging the person to continue following her dream. Learn

calling.
What does a sister do all day?
A sister does pretty much what most people do all day! There is prayer,
work, play and rest! The only difference may be the order in which things
are done! Felician Sisters attend Mass, pray morning and evening prayer
in common, and take time for private contemplative and devotional prayer
daily. Each sister is involved in ministry. The types of ministry can
be found on the Shared Ministry
page. Since community life is important to Felician sisters, there is
time for communal activity. We eat meals together, take turns doing household
tasks, and enjoy each other's company as we engage in leisure and/or recreational
activities. These include many and varied activities which one would come
to know as one would come to know our sisters!
How does one get to know the Felician Sisters?
The best way to come to know the Felician Sisters is to speak with
them and visit them.
