SHARED MINISTRY
A
FUTURE FULL OF HOPE
...
We stand today on the threshold of a new beginning, a time to chart
our course for the next six years. We are standing in the footsteps
of the first five pioneers who came to America in 1874 and began
our American foundation in the rural community of Polonia, Wisconsin.
With the establishment of our province in 1900, our first leaders
and sisters and all our sisters who followed them contributed to
our formation as a province which in turn enters into our individual
lives. If they had stood still, did not make changes, and did not
take risks, we would not be the community we are today...
...
We cannot plan or move ahead unless we continue to grow in our faith
life, deepen our relationship with God and respond in service to
others. It is imperative that we live as authentic consecrated women
in the life to which God has called us...
...
As John Paul II states in Vita Consecrata, "Look to the future
where the Spirit is sending you in order to do even greater things."
...
As we continue to journey together as a community may we recognize
and respond to the presence of God-with-us. Indeed, sisters, we
are on a journey, a journey toward the unknown but let us proceed
with God and each other in the spirit of A FUTURE FILLED WITH HOPE.
Following
the examples of St. Felix, Saint Francis and Blessed Mary Angela,
we continue to bring the message of the Gospel to all people. Through
our various ministries, the mission that began 150 years ago continues
and adapts to the needs of the times.
While
our primary focus for many years has been education, we have expanded
our services to other ministries in the areas of social services,
religious education, campus and parish ministry, health care and
prison ministry.
